Norwood-Skala Graft-Tabelle
Graft-Bereiche für jede Norwood-Stufe — danach den interaktiven Rechner nutzen.
The Norwood-Hamilton scale is the standard classification for male pattern hair loss. Surgeons use your stage plus donor quality to plan graft allocation across hairline, mid-scalp, and crown. The table below shows typical graft bands; individual cases vary.
Norwood-Skala Graft-Referenztabelle
Typische Graft-Bereiche pro Stufe. Ihr Chirurg kann je nach Ziel und Spenderqualität abweichen.
| Norwood-Stufe | Typische Grafts | Muster |
|---|---|---|
| Norwood 1 | Meist nicht nötig | Minimaler oder kein sichtbarer Haarausfall. Transplantation meist nicht nötig. |
| Norwood 2 | 800–1,500 | Leichte Schläfenrezession. Frühe Restauration oft 800–1.500 Grafts. |
| Norwood 3 | 1,500–2,500 | Tiefere Schläfenrezession mit beginnender Ausdünnung oben. Typisch 1.500–2.500 Grafts. |
| Norwood 3 Vertex | 2,000–3,000 | Schläfenrezession plus beginnende Vertex-Ausdünnung. Oft 2.000–3.000 Grafts. |
| Norwood 4 | 2,500–3,500 | Deutlicher Frontverlust mit Kronenbeteiligung. Meist 2.500–3.500 Grafts. |
| Norwood 5 | 3,500–4,500 | Große kahle Fläche zwischen Front und Krone. Oft 3.500–4.500 Grafts. |
| Norwood 6 | 4,500–5,500 | Größtenteils kahler Oberkopf mit Haarband an den Seiten. Typisch 4.500–5.500 Grafts. |
| Norwood 7 | 5,500–7,000 | Nur ein schmales Hufeisen bleibt. Fortgeschrittene Fälle oft 5.500–7.000+ Grafts. |
Reading the Norwood stages
Stages 1–2: minimal recession — transplants are uncommon. Stage 3: noticeable hairline recession. Stage 3V: added crown thinning. Stages 4–5: front and top involvement. Stages 6–7: extensive loss requiring large-scale planning, sometimes with beard or body hair if donor is limited.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the Norwood scale?
- It is a 7-stage system describing progressive male pattern baldness, from minimal recession to severe loss. It helps patients and surgeons communicate hair loss severity.
- How many grafts for Norwood 3V?
- Norwood 3V (vertex) typically needs 2,000–3,000 grafts when treating both hairline recession and crown thinning together.
- Can one session cover Norwood 6 or 7?
- Often yes for a first session targeting the most visible zones, but advanced stages may need 5,000–7,000+ grafts or a two-session strategy depending on donor capacity.
- Is the chart a medical diagnosis?
- No. It is an educational reference. A qualified surgeon confirms stage, donor availability, and realistic density goals.
